"Going Through ... Even if the Door is Closed
Through the Iron Curtain in Obedience to God's Calling
|
On August 14, 1961, two days after East Germany closed the border and began erecting the Berlin Wall, an East German soldier, Hans Conrad Schuhmann, leapt across a barbed wire fence to West Berline and freedom. At the same time this man and millions of others were desperately trying to escape from behind the Iron Curtain, an American missionary, Bill Bathman, was beginning to smuggle Bibles, medical supplies and other aid to persecuted Christians in Eastern Europe. Why would any man risk everything to help others in restricted access countries?

Veteran missionary Bill Bathman has served the persecuted Church in communist countries for over 40 years and continues to do so through In Touch Mission International. Going Through contains powerful stories of missionary exploits in Europe, East and West, during the dramatic events of the Cold War. You will be inspired, encouraged and challenges as you read this uplifting book.

“You are now holding in your hand a treasure of the Twentieth Century, a chronicle of decade of Book-of-Acts-like experiences in the life of a singularly dedicated man of God.” - Dr. Gary D. Kinnaman, pastor and author.
In Touch Mission International is
focused on spreading the Gospel in restricted-access countries, and serving persecuted
Christians in areas of war zone or severe economic hardship. ITMI works predominately
with national Christian leaders, making the Church’s plight known to brothers
and sisters around the world. Through this, we are able to raise prayer and financial
support to enable followers of Christ to continue serving their people during
difficult times in their country. We also support the Church through providing
training and materials as well as by sending short-term and long-term missionaries
to partner with the nationals. We are currently serving in the former Communist
countries of Eastern Europe, Southern Africa and Sudan.
